Shen Snow Leopard – The Chase
Recent census says, India has approx 718 snow leopards (shen ). Its good news, Still it is very difficult to find them. This Image of a Snow Leopard was shot in Kibber in Spiti Valley. Action is rarely seen in the wild. When it happens you have to be prepared. This young shen tried his luck chasing a yak. This is 80% of the actual frame of approx 850mm and this guy was running fast. if you remove your eye from viewfinder you loose the cat. so following it is the only key to getting the shot. He didn’t get the yak though But left me with fond memories and frozen fingers, Ofcourse this lovely frame. Photographed using a nikon d4s+600mm+1.4x on tripod.
