With more than 20 vehicles lined to photograph this tiger cub including the BBC team, I somehow managed to get space for my vehicle but with a tree right in front. Fortunately after some time this guy came and sat just behind that tree. At first I could’nt get a shot but then he started peeping at the vehicles curiously, one such moment is capture in this shot. After sometime he finally came out and sat waiting for his brother […]
Bokha one of the dominant males in bandhavgarh. He was courting a tigress nearby in the bush and this flehmen behaviour was seen when this fella came out of the bush for a brief moment. Shot with nikon D300 + nikor 200-400 vr @300 mm.
Shot with a Nikon D300 + Nikon 200-400vr lens These male painted spurfowls rarely seen in open in bandhavgarh were busy fighting, you can even see the blood marks on the lower right stones, brutal as it seems it is reality in nature. I spotted them fighting while passing by in the vehicle while tracking a tiger, from the time I stopped to when I photographed I got hardly a few seconds and few frames. Couldn’t get both the birds […]
This is an old image from my fav forest Bandipur, spent some amazing time here during my stay in bangalore, this young fellow was trying to show off and trying to scare us away, lovely character.
B2 the dominant Male Bengal Tiger looking through the Grass in Bandhavgarh N.P. After the rains the forest becomes lush green and every where you find the white kash flowers seen here in the background. Here a male tiger called b2 hidden entirely in grass looks through with just his head visible.
Leopards are very elusive and I find them to be the most beautiful of the big cats. After searching for them in Pench National Park, India for 2 days, found this young one for just a few moments while it was stalking. It was in sight for only a few seconds and disappeared into the forest after a few clicks.
Shot this tiger as it was passing through the forest, a small patch of light gave a spotlight effect, in Bandhavgarh national park. I love the drama created by light and shadows here.
Gaur (Male) often referred wrongly as bisons, these are some of the largest oxen species in the world. Males often grow very huge and muscular, its a site to see. This one from Bandipur National Park.
This was shot near the Kabini backwaters in Nagarhole National Park, this was in the rainy season so every thing was lush green and it was raining slightly, fortunately the gypsy (a commonly used 4×4 vehicle in indian forest) was covered so i could take these photos in the rain. The Kabini Backwaters is one of the best places to photograph Asiatic elephants. In summers the backwater is the place to be if you want to photograph Indian or Asiatic […]
Some times skeletons form good subject to photograph, domestic cattle form a major portion of the Gir Lions, this one a cattle skull probably a buffalo killed by lions. Wildlife photography is also about documenting what goes in the lives and around wildlife.
